Following these steps will help your plaid design sit smooth, flat and sealed:

1. Prep: Apply a white, milky, sheer nude, pale pink, soft grey or light base colour and dry/cure completely.
2. Cut: Cut around the plaid section you want to fit the nail.
3. Soak: Using tweezers, soak the design in water for 20 seconds.
4. Slide: Remove from the water and gently slide the decal off the backing sheet.
5. Apply: Place the plaid decal onto the nail. Use a dry beauty sponge to press down and draw out excess water.
6. Clean: Gently clean the edges with a brush and acetone. Only tap the edges.
7. Seal Base: For an ultra-durable finish, apply Build It Up over the entire design and free edge, then cure.
8. Seal Top: Apply Gloss It top coat and cure.
9. Hydrate: Apply a drop of Unicorn Lab Cuticle Oil to your cuticles and massage gently to keep the surrounding nail area looking neat and conditioned.
